Walvis Bay Ship Chandlers is a proudly Namibian owned company, established in 2012. WBSC (Walvis Bay Ship Chandlers) is the result of the dreams and commitment of young Namibian entrepreneurs with the determination to achieve success.
Today, WBSC is a strong, client-orientated company, based on good old-fashioned values – honesty, good communication, hard work and stewardship with client satisfaction in mind. Our mantra is to provide quality services that exceeds the expectations of our clients.
WBSC started off in the Ship Chandling business over 8 years ago, focusing on negotiating & procuring quality food provisions, cleaning and technical products to vessels. WBSC sees itself as a proud partner of their clients and in addition to supplying provisions, is responsible for catering more than 1,000 meals the coastal region of Namibia. Creating jobs and working together with our clients on budgets, meal plans and delivery requirements, from local vessel deliveries to exporting containers with provisions, technical equipment our logistics department covers any demand as far as Angola, Hong Kong and the Antarctic.
WBSC sees itself as much more than a caterer, ship chandler, logistic professionals and service partner – we strive to establish long lasting relations by meeting the needs of our clients. This can only be achieved by actively listening to the needs of our clients, and working diligently to develop effective solutions. 2014 – 2018 Hangana Seafood CANTEEN
Walvis Bay Ship Chandlers’ Canteen serves 600 lunches and 400 dinners, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for a contract period of at least four years. This may vary from Day to day due to ordering request from staff members. Walvis Bay Ship Chandlers provide service of purchasing, distribution and preparation of the food supplies as per menu A and B. These menus may vary to improve service and product quality.
2014 – 2018 Hangana Seafood Seagoing Vessels
Walvis Bay Ship Chandlers’ supply all 7-seagoing vessel with at scheduled periods. 7 days a week, 365 days a year for a contract period of at least three years.
– There are 7 wet fish vessels
– The crew varies between 22 and 32
– Vessels are out on sea for +- 8 days
2016 – 2018 Compass Group South Africa for De Beers Marine Vessels:
Full Turn Key operation for 7 Rigs, all victuals procured in Cape Town delivered via trucks to Port Nolloth, repacked into reefers and delivered via launch to Rigs.
– Includes Fruit & Vegetable orders twice (2) per month
– Frozen once per month
– Dry Stores once per month
All deliveries of victuals to Dry dock vessels calling port of Cape Town.
– WBSC also managed to supply one full shipment from Walvis Bay in July 2017
2017 – 2018 Compass Group South Africa I&J Contract
Wet Fish Vessels
– There are 9 wet fish vessels
– The crew varies between 22 and 35
– Vessels are out on sea for +- 10 days
– When vessel docks it loaded with bread, meat, fruit & veg frozen and dry store.
– There are about 3 freezer vessels
– The crew varies between 62 and 66
– Vessels are out on sea for +-40 days on a 72 hour turn around, but can alternatively come-in for a pit-stop at I&J discretion, only be in port for +- 6 hours.
